The controversy surrounding UK radio legend Tim Westwood has erupted into a full-fledged criminal case. On October 9, 2025, authorities charged the former BBC and Capital Xtra DJ, now 68, with 15 sexual offences involving seven women, including four counts of rape, nine counts of indecent assault, and two counts of sexual assault.
The alleged behavior spans more than three decades, from 1983 to 2016, and includes claims from victims aged as young as 17.

Some of the locations mentioned in the charges are Fulham, Vauxhall, Stroud, and Finchley — varied settings across London and beyond.
Investigators and prosecutors assert they now have sufficient evidence to bring Westwood to court. He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court in November.
Meanwhile, Westwood has denied all allegations and maintains his innocence.

This case puts a spotlight on the broader issues of power dynamics, accountability in media institutions, and how decades-old abuse allegations are handled by law enforcement and media alike. Many are watching — the truth may reshape how the music and broadcasting industries confront allegations against prominent figures.
