Memphis Bleek Discusses Jay-Z's 7-Year Album Hiatus.
Memphis Bleek, a longtime collaborator and protégé of Jay-Z, recently shared insights into why it's taken his mentor seven years to release another solo album.
In an interview on Club Shay Shay, Bleek explained that Jay-Z has always been more than just a rapper; he's a businessman at heart. Even during the early stages of his career, Jay-Z expressed intentions of retiring from rapping.
According to Bleek, Jay-Z's focus shifted towards ventures like Roc Nation, his sports agency, and other business endeavors, leading him to step back from the music scene.
